The word expo means a large exhibition, which is what happened on Friday. First, there was an assembly featuring the year 8’s leave (all the best to them). Then, the exhibition started. Many other students came to explore Team Tui’s classes and their cultural arts. There was also a sale running to raise money for the year 8 leavers’ hoodies.
On Friday 10th of November, we had an athletics day that had multiple series of events eg, discus, shotput, long jump, high jump, and all other Olympic-like sports. Everyone was split into groups, Maungarei (Mt Wellington), Taurere (Mt Taylor), Kaiahiku (Panmure basin) and Te Wai o Taiki (Tamaki River). There wasn’t really some super prize trophy up for grabs, but we could buy some ice blocks, drinks, and sausage sizzles.
I was in the house Taurere, we wore green for the day. Everyone participated in the sports before the runner relays, which the top runners that were chosen could race against others. A lot of parents came to the day to relax in the shade and support their children. My favourite sport was high jump for the day because it is always so satisfying when you jump over and make it.
After the Matariki Festival event we were given some fun tasks to do rather than resume the normal learning. These slides are Friday exclusive. There are eight tasks in total and I did need some help on it. After Friday is the weekends and this is a good way to end off the week days (except sports. )
The link leads to a cute cat video. It is about my cat Lily sitting down while Burmese music is playing in the background. Lily does not stand up at any time. The sun that reflects makes a cool cinematic effect.
This is the 10th installment of ‘My Polyline Drawings’. If you haven’t looked deeper into my blog, the polyline drawings series consists of creatures called bytes that are drawn with polyline or curve. I made this with my friends so some bytes may be unfinished.
These are two new pictures of my cats. The left one is named Cheetah and the right one is named Lily. In the future you will see more cat pictures of them. They are both boy cats (even though Lily is not used for boy names) and they are both over 2 years old.
For my LCS create, I created a paper star sphere that can be held in your hands. It is composed of many swirly star shapes. I needed ~60 (approximately 60) circles to make this. All 60 circles needed to be 9cm in diameter. With rough handling it breaks easily so I had to reinforce the curls to be more ‘curly’ so it could lessen the chances of that.
For this task I tried using the instruction pictures (they speak a thousand words) to know what to do because I do not speak Maori. It was about using format options and recolouring images according to what the pictures showed. I put a picture of my cat Cheetah and recoloured the image green.
This is the sequel to my Cybersmart task, It wasn’t necessary but I made it for fun. See you in The Blue Temple III.
