Should we have zoos?
Introduction-
Zoos have been here for a very long time, about 3,000 years ago. Zoos no longer have cages where they are trapped in concrete or metal bars. They now look like an animal’s natural habitat with bigger space and natural sound.
My opinion is that we should have zoos.
The main reason why I think we should have zoos is because when some animal numbers get too low, zoos have special breeding programs to help save the endangered animals. An example for this is the black footed ferret, which once had less than 20 in the wild and a breeding program was set up to save them. Now there are about 300 ferrets!
Another reason is because you can learn about an animal’s natural habitat and learn about their traits. You can see how they play and what they usually do every day.
Conclusion-That is why I think we should have zoos. People don’t just visit zoos for entertainment, but also to learn about them. Even if you can learn just the same from books and documentaries, visiting a zoo is a good time to get outside and learn more about animals in a more realistic way.
So, that is why I believe that zoos should be kept. Zoos are there to help animals thrive or animals who can’t really breed or be safe in their natural environment.
